High School Bands

Concert Band

Concert Band performs several times throughout the school year and participates in the ISSMA Organizational contest in the spring. Students will also have the opportunity to work with great guest conductors and other outside experts in the field of instrumental music. The Bremen Concert Band has a long tradition of excellence in concert band performance.

Marching Band

The “Emerald Alliance” is one of the most exciting and visible performing ensembles offered at Bremen High School. The Emerald Alliance begins putting together a competition show during the summer, which blends exciting music with unique visuals. Students will have the opportunity to compete with other bands from around the state at various marching invitational and state contests.

Basketball Pep Band

The Pep Band is a curricular component of our Concert Band, which performs at varsity home basketball games. The music is fast-paced rock and pop music, different from the music usually played in Concert Band. The band has a lot of fun during basketball season and has even been invited to play at college games!

Jazz Band

Jazz Band is a smaller, audition-only high school performing group that focuses primarily on the styles of swing, bebop, rock, and funk. Students involved in the jazz band would work on the development of basic jazz and pop styles, as well as solo development and improvisation. The Bremen Jazz Band has performed at jazz festivals throughout the state, including the Dimensions in Jazz Festival at Ball State University.

Winter Guard

The Bremen Winter Guard is comprised of students in grades 9-12. Students who play an instrument in the band program for marching band have the opportunity to be involved in this program as well. Guard members work on dance and flag/rifle technique, incorporated into a high-energy visual show with music. The Winter Guard competes with the Indiana High School Color Guard Association throughout the state from January to March.

Musical Pit Band

The Pit Band is an invitation-only ensemble comprised of instrumentalists from the band program.  This ensemble provides the musical accompaniment for the high school musical performed in the spring. They begin rehearsing after school in January and continue until the performances in March.
